Saturday July 26th

Check out the conditions 2 mornings back..total tranquility as the mist started moving off the Grand Lake. Had our Grand Opening beginning at 4pm with Brats and Beer and rowing demos which were recieved very well. We got a bunch of people out on Virus Catarams and Virus Yoles despite the odd Grand Lake gusts. All the new rowers were delighted with the Catarams especially because of their absolute stability allowing them to work on getting their rhythm going and get into the zone. For recreational rowing these boats are just unbeatable for the beginning rower. We pair them with Dreyer brand carbon fibre oars which are so light yet give tremendous speed for effort - awesome! Lots of friends and business owners from Grand Lake attended which was very touching given the fact that town was nuts with check-ins and new visitors everywhere. We were delighted to see Ginny and Luke from Humphrys Grand Lake, Sarah and Tim from The Village Hub Grand Lake, Michelle from Whispering Pine Grand Lake, Scott , Donna and the gang from Mountain Lake Properties Grand Lake ( sorry Sylvia and Shelly we could'nt get you on the water but we will!) Sue from The Grand Lady Grand Lake , and a whole bunch of others. Thanks to all of you who attended!!

Monday July 7th 2008

What a weekend! We had our boats in the local parade and drew a lot of interest. See pictures later on.
Have had a great response to our catarams. Our final 2 catarams for the rental business arrive today. We have found them to be a bunch of fun to row and just hang out on. Very stable, I have stood on 1 pontoon (225lbs of me) and there is no hint of the boat turning over on me. We find as time goes on more and more people are coming out of the woodwork to try rowing with the usual reason being " I've always wanted to try rowing"
Today here is a little rainy but the water is like glass so the blog will suffer, I must row!!
